A Little Comfort When It’s Needed Most

Over the past week, NHS Borders Health Charity has been busy providing a large number of emergency toiletry packs to patients who have found themselves unexpectedly admitted to hospital without their everyday essentials.

Being admitted to hospital at short notice can be a stressful and unsettling experience. Something as simple as not having access to basic toiletries can add to that worry at an already difficult time. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are able to provide emergency packs containing everyday essentials, helping to bring comfort, dignity and reassurance when it is needed most.

While these packs may seem like a small gesture, they can make a significant difference to patients during an unexpected hospital stay. Having access to familiar essentials helps people feel more comfortable, maintain their dignity and feel a little more like themselves while receiving care.

The demand for these packs remains high, and it has been wonderful to see them reaching so many patients over the last week. They are just one example of how charitable donations help us provide practical support that goes above and beyond what NHS funding alone can provide.
