Tree of Light 2025

This Christmas, NHS Borders Health Charity is asking for people once again to come together and join in with this years Tree of Light.

Everyone is invited to make a dedication in memory of someone special, in celebration, to welcome a new life or to thank a person or group who has made a difference and by doing so sharing your love with them.

With every dedication and donation made, a personalised message and photograph can be uploaded to our virtual Christmas Tree. For each dedication made the charity will send you a handcrafted decoration in the post (while stocks last) for you to hang on your own Christmas tree or to gift to those you are honouring.

A special thank you to the Galashiels crafting group, the “Crafty Dafties” who have once again kindly given their time and materials to make the decorations.

This year marks our 10th anniversary of the Tree of Light and over the last nine years you have helped us raise thousands of pounds to help us enhance patient care.

We will be keeping the spirit of Christmas going with the money raised helping fund gifts for patients, who find themselves in hospital over the Christmas period. Donations will also go towards providing other patient comforts that help make someone’s time in hospital a little easier.

The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is once again set to feature as part of our Christmas celebrations and NHS Borders Health Charity warmly invites you all to join us on Tuesday 2nd December for the big switch on.

Starting at 6.00pm refreshments will be served in the Chaplaincy Centre at the BGH, followed by the big switch on and Christmas carols from 6.30pm just outside by the tree.
